Introduction
Hi! Welcome to Studio Acorn. I’m Hari, the eye behind the viewfinder, and I’m an amateur photographer living in Denver, Colorado. I made this website to create a space for and share my work with the world. I enjoy shooting landscapes, wildlife, and city views.
Why I started photography
I started photography as a hobby while working as a frontline worker during the pandemic, and it’s been an escape for me ever since. I’m currently making my way through graduate school studying pharmaceutical sciences with a focus on immunology, and photography continues to be an outlet. Taking pictures of landscapes and wildlife has given me an appreciation for nature and a “stopping to smell the roses” mentality I did not have as much of previously, and I hope that this calm is also shared through my photos. In a stressful world of deadlines, experiments, and long hours indoors, going outside with my camera in-hand is always a breath of fresh air.
Through the lens
Unless I’m taking city shots, I usually drive away from all the hustle and bustle and go hiking in the wilderness until I come across something I want to photograph, whether that’s an animal in a tree or a mountain vista that suddenly appears beyond a clearing in front of me. I try to capture the same mix of excitement and tranquility I feel when taking these images. The same location can be home to a variety of wildlife and scenery throughout the seasons, so there’s actually very little repetition in revisiting the same parks. However, I’m always looking for new places and things to photograph too - it’s a perpetual adventure.
